Amber Theall Office Manager

Amber Theall, Office Manager

Amber Theall was born in Fremont,California and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when she was 1 year old. She graduated from Manzano High School in 2015 and continued on to pursue her Bachelors in Biology at the University of New Mexico. She graduated in May 2020 with her BS in Biology along with a minor in Psychology. She started working at Southwest Myofunctional Therapy in 2020 not knowing what myofunctional therapy was but has since learned so much! She creates a personal connection with all of the patients that she interacts with and has had the opportunity to connect well with her coworkers. She loves everything that she has learned about myofunctional therapy and cannot wait to continue learning anything and everything that comes her way! On the weekends she spends her free time with her family - her boyfriend and her son. She enjoys putting together puzzles and working on crafty projects with her Cricut machine. Overall, Amber is a lovely individual with a big heart, willing to learn anything that is thrown her way and a great, joyful face to see around the clinic!

Andrea is from the beautiful South Valley of Albuquerque. She was raised on a chile farm and learned the value of hard work on her family's farm. Andrea has been employed with Southwest Myofunctional Therapy nearly a year, where she enjoys assisting patients with their needs. In her free time Andrea enjoys spending time with family

Alexandria Melchor, Administrative Assistant

Alexandria is from Santo Domingo and San Felipe Pueblos. She graduated from St. Pius X High School in 2015. She recently graduated from the University of New Mexico in December 2022, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Multicultural Education. She is new to the Southwest Myofunctional Therapy Team. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family.

Hello! My name is Angelica González. I started working as a medical scribe at Southwest Myofunctional Therapy in 2021. I work part time and go to school full time at The University of New Mexico. I am working towards a BBA in General Management. In the future, I hope to open my own hair salon because hair is something I have always loved doing. In my free time I enjoy reading, painting, drawing, playing volleyball, as well as spending time with my friends and family.

Sandraluz Gonzalez, D.D.S

Sandraluz Gonzalez is a registered Dental Hygienist, and a Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist practicing in the greater Albuquerque area.

While pursuing a Master’s degree in speech & language sciences, Sandraluz fell unto the fascinating world of orofacial myofunctional therapy and has been practicing since 2011. Sandraluz completed extensive Internships with Joy Moeller, RDH, COM, Soroush Zaghi, ENT, Bill Hang DDS, Felix Liao, DDS, Larry Kotlow DDS, Rosalba Courtney DO, PhD, Peter Litchield PhD, Patrick McKeown, and has completed further extensive advanced education in orofacial myofunctional disorders, to include courses in airway disorders, sleep disorders, breathing dysfunction, TMJ disorders, craniofacial, head and & pain, identifying TOTS or tethered oral tissues, and oral habit elimination

Sandraluz has had professional clinical experience in a variety of settings including stroke rehabilitation, cleft-palate treatment, OSA and TMJD outpatient rehabilitation. In 2012 Sandraluz opened her own private practice and focuses her attention on children and adults.

Sandraluz is in constant pursuit of knowledge and attends over 50 hours of continuing education each year, because as our knowledge base and science is constantly evolving, and it is critical to understand and respect all professional settings, and how we can work collaboratively to improve the health of our patients.

Sandraluz is a Breathe Institute Ambassador and is one of the elite graduates of The Breathe Institutes’ Inaugural Myomastermind Course. She is honored to work with the Breathe Institute in developing research based protocols for the future of oral myofunctional therapy.

She is also a member and liaison of the AAPMD (American Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry aapmd.org) the AOMT (Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy aomtinfo.org), IAOM (International Association of Oral Myology iaom.com) AAMS (Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences aamsinfo.org), AAGO (Academy of Airway & Gnathologic Orthodontics aago.com), the ADHA (American Dental Hygiene Association adha.org) and the AACP (American Academy of Craniofacial Pain). 

Oh, and in her free time, she’s a mom who loves sports with her daughter, and loves spending time with her ridiculously fun family.

Training and Experience

Sandraluz has had professional clinical experience in a variety of settings including stroke rehabilitation, cleft-palate treatment, OSA and TMJD outpatient rehabilitation. In 2012 Sandraluz opened her own private practice to focus her attention on children with palatal formation disorders, open mouth breathing, tongue thrust disorders, speech sound disorders, improper swallowing, compensatory breathing, and oral habit elimination. In recent years, her focus has turned to many pediatric and adult clients who have been diagnosed with breathing disorders and/or Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Sandraluz is an advocate for infants and breastfeeding moms who struggle with tongue/lip ties, better known as TOTS (Tethered Oral Tissues). She has invested countless clinical hours with Soroush Zaghi, ENT & The Breathe Institute, as well Larry Kotlow, DDS learning about, and implementing a pre/post-operative therapy program for infants, children and adults who have undergone functional frenuloplasty/frenectomy/frenotomy procedures.

Sandraluz is in constant pursuit of knowledge and attends over 65+ hours of continuing education each year. This ensures her knowledge of orofacial science is continuously progressing in order to understand and respect all professional opinions and settings .

Sandraluz is a member and strong advocate of the AAPMD (American Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry aapmd.org), the AOMT (Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy aomtinfo.org), IAOM (International Association of Oral Myology iaom.com), AAMS (Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences aamsinfo.org), ALSC (American Laser Study Club americanlaserstudyclub.org), AAGO (American Academy of Gnathologic Orthodontics aago.com), IATP (International Association for Tongue Tied Professionals)and the ADHA (American Dental Hygiene Association adha.org).
